Customers can send a clear tire photo, sidewall size, rim photo, and location so staff can identify the tire need faster before dispatch.
ATUD can compare budget, mid-grade, and premium tire options so customers can choose based on safety, price, ride comfort, and mileage.
The request form helps identify spare install, puncture repair, replacement tire, wheel-lock issue, TPMS light, blowout, or unsafe shoulder situation.
Service vans, rideshare drivers, delivery drivers, property staff, and small businesses can request recurring tire checks and priority scheduling.
Every tire job should leave with correct PSI guidance, lug torque awareness, and basic tread/wear education so customers understand the next step.
Website requests are connected to the ATUD request dashboard so staff can see new leads, call back, update status, and track service history.
Enter your tire size (found on the sidewall, or on the driver's door jamb). We carry every major brand and tier — quoted in real-time.
ATUD & Sons Auto can help customers compare and request common passenger, SUV, van and light-truck tire options from major brands, subject to local availability, vehicle fitment, load rating, speed rating and budget.
Hit the Request button. Tell us where you are and what's wrong in under a minute.
Flat-rate pricing confirmed up front. Tech rolls out with the parts you need.
Mount, balance, repair, or replace — in your driveway, lot, or shoulder.
Pay by card, cash, or transfer. Warranty receipt sent by text. Done.
Enter your current PSI and recommended PSI (door jamb sticker). We'll tell you if you can drive safely.
Use a quarter or measure with calipers. New tires start at 10/32". Legal limit is 2/32".
Use the driver-door sticker as your target. The tire sidewall number is the maximum pressure, not your daily fill target.
Start planning replacement at 4/32”. If you wait until 2/32”, wet braking and hydroplaning resistance are already poor.
After any wheel install, lug nuts should be tightened in a star pattern and checked again after 50–100 miles when possible.
Most temporary spares have a lower speed and distance limit. Check the spare sidewall before getting back on the highway.
Four contact patches the size of your palm carry the weight of your car at highway speed. Why this matters for braking, hydroplaning, and fuel economy.
The number on the side of your tire is a maximum, not a target. Here's how to find the right pressure for your vehicle.
Every tire has a date of manufacture stamped on the sidewall. Tires older than 6 years are unsafe even if the tread looks fine.
The penny test only tells you when you've hit the legal minimum. The quarter test tells you when to start planning replacement.
Most roadside plugs are illegal as permanent fixes. We explain when a plug is safe, when a patch is required, and when a tire is dead.
All-season tires are designed to be good at nothing in particular. For DMV winters and hot DC summers, here's when dedicated rubber pays off.
Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems use small radio sensors inside each wheel. Here's what they do, why batteries die, and what reprogramming means.
The government grades every tire on three measures. We translate the score so you can compare 300AA to 500BA without guessing.
Electric cars weigh more, accelerate harder, and put unique stress on rubber. Here's how to extend EV tire life by 30 percent.
A $60 tire that lasts 25,000 miles costs more per mile than a $130 tire that lasts 65,000. Here's the math, plus the safety tradeoff.
Heat, sunlight, ozone, and ground contact destroy tires that aren't even on a car. Here's how to keep your spares fresh.
Directional, asymmetric, staggered — not all tires rotate the same way. Get this wrong and you'll wear them out double fast.
Every 10°F temperature drop = 1 PSI lost. Driving from sea-level DC up to the mountains? Your tires read different. Here's the chart.
Each number on the sidewall maps to a maximum weight in pounds. We translate the full table so you never underbuy for towing or hauling.
The four signs of a tire that's been previously plugged, internally damaged, or sat in the sun for years. Buying used? Read this first.
Behind the dealership markup. We break down what you're actually paying for, and where to cut the middleman without sacrificing quality.
Treadwear warranty vs. road hazard warranty vs. defect warranty. Most drivers don't know which one covers their blowout. Here's the full guide.
Sport tires grip harder, wear faster, ride rougher. Touring tires last forever, ride smooth, give up corner speed. When should you pick which?
A bulge means the internal cords have separated. The tire can fail at any moment, especially at highway speed. Stop driving and call us.
Almost always a balance issue. Could also be a separated belt inside the tire or a bent rim. Worth a 20-minute diagnosis.
Could be uneven pressure (cheap fix), an alignment issue (medium), or internal tire damage (replacement). We diagnose on site.
Tires tell you what's wrong with your car. Center bald = overinflation. Edge bald = under. Cupping = suspension. Don't ignore the pattern.
A constant low-pitched hum that changes with speed is usually tire wear or a wheel bearing. We can tell which on a 5-minute test drive.
If pressure is correct and the light still glows, the sensor is failing, the battery died (lifespan 5-10 years), or it needs reprogramming.
Test what you know. One question at a time. No login. Just curiosity.
Good roadside work starts with lifting the vehicle correctly. A strong jack point protects the rocker panel, keeps the car stable, and prevents damage during a fast tire change.
Impact tools save time, but final tightening should still be controlled. The goal is even clamping force, not just speed.
A spare gets you out of danger, but it is usually not a long-term solution. Customers should know what comes next before leaving the shoulder.
After a hard pothole hit, watch for steering pull, vibration, sidewall bubbles, or a TPMS warning light. Those signs can mean wheel or suspension damage, not just a puncture.
Before buying any used tire, check the DOT date code, shoulder wear, inner liner condition, plug count, and sidewall cracking. A cheap tire is expensive if it fails early.
In wet weather, the rear tires matter just as much as the front. The tires with better tread should usually be placed on the rear axle to reduce fishtailing risk.
When booking roadside help, send your tire size, vehicle make/model, exact location, and one clear photo of the damaged tire. It speeds dispatch and improves accuracy.
Yes. Every service we offer happens at your location. We carry mounting machines, balancers, jacks, torque tools, and a stocked tire inventory in the van. Driveway, parking lot, office garage, side of the road — if your car is there, we can work on it there.
Hyattsville, Washington DC (all wards), Prince George's County, Montgomery County, and Baltimore City. Outside these zones we can still dispatch but add a travel charge. Call to confirm before booking.
No. Our tire prices match local shops. We do charge a small dispatch fee for roadside emergencies. The trade-off is no tow bill, no waiting room, no losing half a day to a flat.
Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover), Apple Pay, Google Pay, Zelle, Cash App, and cash. We send a digital receipt by text within minutes of service.
Yes. Run-flats require specific mounting machines and bead seaters, both of which travel with us. We service BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, and other vehicles that ship with run-flat OE tires.
No, but it helps. If you can, send a photo of the sidewall or your driver-door sticker. We can often identify the size from a clear photo and dispatch the right tire faster.
Yes. If you already bought tires online, we can install customer-supplied tires as long as they are the correct size and safe for use. We can also source tires directly if you want a full-service option.
Tell us before dispatch if you think your vehicle has locking lug nuts and you cannot find the key. Some situations can still be handled, but it changes the tools and time required.
All workmanship is warrantied for 90 days. Tire manufacturer warranties (typically 30,000-80,000 miles depending on brand) are honored through us. Brake work carries a 2-year workmanship warranty.
